Re-Set, Re-Adjust Re-Start, Re-Focus As Many Times As You need.goal setting

New Year is all about new changes you want to make for a better you. But then some of us sometimes hit the slumps/ blocks and put a pause.
How about we give it a different approach this time around.Instead of thinking of our goals as new or fresh and stressing about Goals not achieved,

Let’s Re-Define them. Re-Start from where we left off.
Re-adjust so they are attainable.
Re-Set the ones we had to put on hold.
Re-Focus as many times as we need to, To be our absolute best. Let’s re-imagine the ways we reach our goals!!

Re-Set our goals for possible level make few small goals that make up our big end goal,  instead of working out for an hour start with 10 min workouts for about five times a week. Then build our way up.

How about starting with 5000 steps instead of 10,000 and stressing about all those UN-walked steps. Instead set goals that are attainable that build and boost your confidence and reflect a positive state of mental health.

Re-Adjust your goals. Add 10 mins of meditation or yoga for better mental health.

I mean let’s face it life happens to all of us. Seasonal sickness or caring for our kids or spouses we sometimes put a pause on our goals.

So let’s not stay stuck in that pause let us Re-Start and Re-Focus and for as many times as we need to for being our absolute best. 

Let’s Re-Imagine the way we see our goals this year.

Let’s Re-Fresh our goals this spring., not all our goals are weightloss related, so how to handle our business goals? Here’s a trick I use although very simple it’s very efficient.  I make a list of all the things I have to do. When our mind is filled an endless number of thoughts, it’s hard to get things done. I put down all those on a notepad be it on a computer or a physical paper. And, then I slay one dragon at a time!!goal setting

Everyday goals:  How to reach our daily goals efficiently? Set every day “To-do” list. As so evident as it sounds, it is the most effective way to get things done.

Top 5 Ways To Conquer your Inner Fears And Be Successful.

Fear.. what is fear? Why do we have it? How do we overcome our fears?  Our inner demons.

Fear is a powerful emotion that we experience which makes aware of an unpleasant situation or danger. This fear we have makes us want to hide, to run away, or even avoid a situation.

So, how can we overcome this fear these inner conflicts, that little voice in your head is saying don’t do it what if? What if you fail, what if you make a fool out of yourself?  How are you going to deal with embarrassment?

The answer is very straightforward. CONQUER  “IT” called “FEAR”…

Now, wait a minute. Hear me out. Or read me out in this case since you are reading this post.

I know how this sounds, such a cliche..easy for you to say you don’t know what it’s like, what I had to go through, what it feels like to be.

I know what all these feeling are like because just like you I have been through these emotions time and agian.. over and over… The only way I got over these is by conquering them one by one.

So was it easy or was it hard? O! boy it was tough… I was like no way… maybe not for me.. not at first. Did I cry..? heck yay!! I’m only human. I probably wouldn’t have complained if I were a humanoid… The first few tries are always hard.

 But then something changed not the situations or the people around me.

 It was something inside me. The little voice in my head shifted.  It was like the flip side of a coin, from pointing at all the ways I did something wrong to what could go more wrong if I didn’t give up or curl up into a ball and hibernate for eternity,  to saying…. hey that wasn’t so bad.  It’s okay you are still learning, you will do way better next time now that you tried. And that my friend is a fantastic feeling.

You see the only thing that changed was the way I was thinking. I was beating up myself all the time to embracing myself. It wasn’t the situations or people that turned around me; It was how I treated myself.

And then I started seeing the change in people around me… had that shift towards me. I call it the ripple effect, even before I could react they would say it to me Hey don’t worry about it, It’s okay, or I know you will do way better next time.

So how did I get from being a sore loser to conquering my inner fears? Or more importantly, how can anyone overcome their inner fears and become successful!!

Now getting to the fun part on how to conquer your inner fears the Top 5 ways.

#1. GET CONTROL OF YOUR THOUGHTS AND CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!

Now how exactly do we do this? Thoughts of negativity and self-doubt hold you back from reaching your full potential.

Identify and write out self-sabotaging thoughts. Now reframe your perspective by writing out why you’re capable and deserving of goals and dreams and desires. And now read it out loud. The key is recognizing these negative thoughts immediately and destroying them before they hinder progress.

This Quote brings us to our second method.

#2. Dive Into Opportunities By taking Actions.

Success comes to people who take actions. Do not wait for the Perfect moment or a Perfect opportunity. If you’re expecting to do something because you want it to be ‘perfect,’ you’re never going to achieve it. Recognizing the opportunity and destroy fears by facing perfectionism head on and taking action. And that is how you become successful. Successful people in life didn’t get to where they are today because they waited for the perfect moment; they grabbed the opportunity and figured it out along the way.

#3. Set BIG GOALS And Step into Success…

Tap into your mindset by mapping out your goals starting with the end in mind. Create milestones along the way. Acknowledge the milestones you hit along the way to keep tabs on your progress. Enjoy the journey to success. The mindset you have on your path determines your success because if you hate what you are doing it’s likely you going to give up. So think of the big picture, the end goal and enjoy the journey along the way with the right mindset. And when you do it right mindset every  GOAL you set your mind onto will be a success!!

#4. Control Your Environment And Tap into Your Mindset.

You will never grow to your fullest potential by keeping toxic people in your life. They’re known as energy vampires that suck the energy from you. If you can’t eliminate them, detach yourself and minimize contact with them. Surround yourself with quality people, not quantity.

Look at it this way when you are working so hard on improving yourself and bettering yourself, Why do you want to spend time with someone who brings you down instead of uplifting you. It’s okay to walk away from them, don’t feel guilty.

#5. Create Habits That Serve You Success.

Success is about choosing between what you want now and what you want in a bigger picture. Anything that is not serving the bigger picture ditch it. Don’t let an instant gratification hinder your bigger goal. Fuel your inner self and make it reflect the path to success. Replace junk food with healthy food,  Social media, and TV with Meditation and high-quality reading like self-improvement books. Incorporate ways that lead to your end goals.

Self Care: Top 10 Ways to Care for Yourself!!

Often in life, we forget to stop. Pause and care for ourselves. We get so lost in caring for our loved ones,  spouse and children and friends and family. We don’t have any time left for self-love.

 

And the results are exhaustion, burnt out and sickness.

 

Sounds familiar.. if you are like me, then this is your new normal.

 

So how can we change that?? What can we do differently that we don’t fall into old patterns and fall into new changes where we can show some self-love!!

Why self-love? So we don’t get lost in the world of our loved ones and forget who we are.

To be able to say hey beautiful !! YOU ARE DOING GREAT !! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! and to be able to pat yourself on your back.

The only way I realized we could do this if we pause to take time for self-care…

 

But first, how can you identify you are at the edge of being burnt out and exhaustion… here are some signs.

If You are completely exhausted by the end of the day that you collapse on the couch and fall asleep.

By the end of the week, you are so tired you can hardly get out of bed in the morning.

 

Sleep most of your morning during the weekend to feel energized again.

 

No matter how much sleep you get, you wake up exhausted. Like you didn’t get enough rest.

 

Caffeine is your power source to wake up and get through the day.

 

You often work so hard you forget to eat. Skip breakfast and try to get through the day with just coffee.

Have extreme cravings for junk food and eat excessive amounts of sugar for energy.

 Binge on Netflix and other distractions to avoid being alone with your thoughts.

If any of these sounds  familiar, then you need to pause and start showing yourself some love.Self-care.

What exactly do you do for Self Care?? What is Self Care??

Self Care is being in touch with your inner self. Being content with who you are. Self Care is commonly misunderstood for selfishness. At least I thought it was.. but it’s not when you are not yourself and unable to care for yourself, then you are not the best version of yourself.

 

Because when you care for yourself and be in touch with your true self. Then no matter what curve balls life throws at you, you find the best possible way out.

Self Care includes your mental health, emotional health, and Physical health. When you have these three ducks in a row, then everything else falls in place. And these lead to your Intellectual health and Spiritual health.

Top 10 ways to keep your mental health at check.

 

  1.  Relax and allow yourself to do nothing (no cell phones allowed!) and talk to yourself about your thoughts and feelings. Keep a journal if necessary write it down, Think of ways you can improve these feelings.

 

  1.  Meditate at least for 10 min as the first thing in the morning and last thing bed.
  1.  Read an educational book with a focus on personal growth- the reason why? Its simple they help you keep in track for self-care/development a necessary step to break the old bad habit of neglecting you. Remember to prioritize yourself. Self-development books teach that.My favorite The Power of the Subconscious Mind.
  1. Listen to an educational podcast. The news is not included as educational fact is there is so much negative in the news nowadays, it will only lower your energy frequency. We need to keep up our positive energy. I’m not saying don’t listen,  not too much get imp headlines, traffic and weather local news trust me this is plenty…

 

  1. Play with your pet. It is one of the best therapy session you can gift yourself. They heal us in ways words cannot express.

 

6. Cuddle with your spouse/partner. The incredible peace, relief from stress and content feeling you get with cuddling is irreplaceable.

 

  1. Do something that makes you smile. Art, going for a walk whatever that is for you.remember you are the priority here.
  1. Create something artistic or play an instrument. I  love art; it has been the best therapy for me… Hands down it’s the most effective therapy to beat the depressive feeling that overshadows us time and again.

 

  1. Listen to music you love. If it is dance beats and makes you start dancing then. Heck yay. You will get some workout out of it. Don’t listen to music that makes you sad and reminds of loss(loss of loved ones). Remember we are focusing on building our mental health.

 

10. Practice gratitude. Maintain a journal if you need to it serves as a reminder for all the things you are grateful for.

Top 10 ways to Keep your Emotional Health at check.

 

  1.  Forgive someone you have been holding a grudge against. Not like I forgive you for the wrong you did… no, forgive as you mean it… I forgive you for everything you did, and I forgive myself for the wrong I did, and I settle this karmic account with you. You are free to live your life your way, and I’m free to live my life my way…

 

I say this personally every time I practice forgiveness… it may frustrate you at first, annoy you even to read this or say it in your head or even out loud.. but it works. It works like magic. It returns peace to you and heals you of the emotional scars you been holding onto knowingly or unknowingly.

  1. Do something that scares you that you’ve always wanted to do. This boosts your confidence and in turn, lifts your spirits. You will be surprised that you want to do that again.
  1. Focus on your own needs and goals instead of comparing yourself to others.

 

  1. Practice compassion for yourself.
  1.  Spend time with your kids. We have our most profound emotional bond when it comes to kids, spending time quality time making memories is an absolute necessity for our heart health. It  is when we have good quality time with kids; it brings this amazing glow on us that gives us the strength to face the world.
  1.  Allow yourself to feel your feelings instead of running from them or distracting yourself.
  1.  Read a book that lifts your spirits. Be it fictional or non-fictional.

 

  1. Take a break from technology/ Social media—unplug..
  1.  Help someone and don’t expect anything in return.
  1.  Practice positive affirmations (Example: You are enough just as you are right now in this moment. Love yourself unconditionally. Write down a few things you appreciate yourself.

TOP 10 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH IN CHECK…

  1. Practice deep breathing. This is part of your meditation. It helps you de-stress lightens you up instantly like a magic pill.

 

  1. Move to music you love. It contributes to workout.

 

  1. Get adequate sleep.

 

  1. Lift weights. Start small and build up. Start with 10 min workouts and work your way up little goes a long way. Consistency is a key here.. 10 min a day for 5 to 6 days a week.
  1. Walk. Not all days go as we want and that’s okay that’s when we get creative.

 

6. Play a sport. Play tag with your kids or your pet.

 

  1. Go outside—get some sunlight on your skin. It’s amazing what little bit of the sun does to you. Natural vitamin D supplement and some fresh air…. works wonders for your health…
  1. Try yoga or another mindful movement practice (also good for your mental health)

 

  1. Eat healthily (i.e., fruits and veggies). Carrying a few healthy snacks with you at all times helps you keep your junk cravings at bay.

 

  1. Look in a mirror and love your body as it is right now, without judgment.

In Conclusion.

I know you may be feeling an overwhelming feeling after reading all of this… trust me it’s not a lot… some of these steps overlap like meditation It’s because these steps have that amazing benefits all three aspects of self-care… Some of these we practice without intention.  Set intention and then do them,  You will see the difference it makes ten folds better.

Make a list of things you already practice but this time with set intention.  Start with one new thing each week or until it becomes natural to you that you do it every day,  even if it takes more than two weeks, there is no set time to start practicing these you decide how long you need to make these changes as a part of your routine.

Remember it takes time and effort to break old habits and build new and better habits.

I know it’s hard to find time for self-care; that’s why I recommend scheduling one hour every single day just for you. Self-care might seem silly, but it saved me from depression,  made me a better person.

And it just might do the same for you!

I do not have a fancy Psychology degree.. but these are the ways I practice Self-Care… Sharing my methods and practices. It’s like how we as parents share parenting tips. We share them based on our experience, not because we have a fancy degree.
